Tenugui (手拭い) is a versatile, lightweight Japanese cotton towel that has been a cherished part of daily life for centuries.

Hamamonyo Tenugui are crafted using the traditional Yokohama stencil dyeing technique known as Nassen (捺染). Made from a specially developed fabric called Wakaba, these towels showcase vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and exceptional dye quality. The eco-friendly production avoids fluorescent whitening agents, ensuring a sustainable and skin-friendly design. With over 100 designs available year-round and new seasonal patterns introduced regularly, these tenugui are as practical as they are collectible.

There are no set rules for using a tenugui. Whether you use it as:
